چکیده

Antimicrobial resistance is considered an important threat to global health and has recently attracted significant attention from the public. In this study, concentrations size distribution characteristics of culturable airborne total bacteria (TB) four antibiotic-resistant (tetracycline-resistant (TRB), ciprofloxacin-resistant (CRB), erythromycin-resistant (ERB), ampicillin-resistant (ARB)) were investigated for approximately one year explore their variations under different seasons, diurnal periods, air quality levels. The TB in winter night higher than during other seasons periods. Their maximum detected moderate pollution or heavy pollution. PM2.5, PM10, SO2, NO2 positively related (p < 0.01), whereas O3 wind speed negatively them 0.05). particle mainly distributed stage V (1.1–2.2 µm). Bacillus was dominant genus ARB (75.97%) CRB (25.67%). Staphylococcus Macrococcus genera TRB (46.05%) ERB (47.67%), respectively. opportunistic pathogens Micrococcus, Sphingomonas, Enterococcus, Rhodococcus, Stenotrophomonas also identified. This study provides references understanding bioaerosols human health.

The Culturable Soil Antibiotic Resistome: A Community of Multi-Drug Resistant Bacteria

Understanding the soil bacterial resistome is essential to understanding the evolution and development of antibiotic resistance, and its spread between species and biomes. We have identified and characterized multi-drug resistance (MDR) mechanisms in the culturable soil antibiotic resistome and linked the resistance profiles to bacterial species. We isolated 412 antibiotic resistant bacteria fr...

Concentrations of airborne culturable bacteria in 100 large US office buildings from the BASE study.

UNLABELLED This paper presents summary statistics of airborne culturable bacteria from the US Environmental Protection Agency Building Assessment Survey and Evaluation (BASE) study. Air samples were collected with single-stage, multiple-hole, agar impactors in 100 large office buildings in 1994-1998 to obtain normative data on indoor environmental quality. Bacterial concentrations were compared...

Selection of Resistant Bacteria at Very Low Antibiotic Concentrations

The widespread use of antibiotics is selecting for a variety of resistance mechanisms that seriously challenge our ability to treat bacterial infections. Resistant bacteria can be selected at the high concentrations of antibiotics used therapeutically, but what role the much lower antibiotic concentrations present in many environments plays in selection remains largely unclear. Here we show usi...
